Origin of Easter

With Easter being on Sunday I started thinking about the holiday itself. How does a "bunny" become the overall symbol of the Easter holiday? I looked it up and here is what I found:

    I like how this website explains it, but then again I'm strong believer in Christianity being based on pagan ideas. Not saying thats a bad thing, just a true thing.

    I've also been told that the coloring of eggs is related to an Eastern Orthodox story where Mary Magdalen was telling the king that Jesus had risen from the grave and picked up an egg and said that if it was true the egg would turn red and then the egg turned red.
